Movember UK 2011
68
Movember is an annual month of moustache-cultivating, to help promote men's health issues and raise money for research, prevention and treatment of prostate cancer. Coaxing that mo out of their upper lip, mo bros encourage friends, colleagues and family to sponsor their new furry friend.
Thanks to some attractive and smart marketing, the event has been growing each year, with 447, 000 moustaches helping to raise £48.6 million in 2010. £108.5 million has been raised in total.
Rules of Movember
-
Once registered, each participant must adopt a clean-shaven face on the 1st of November.
-
For the whole month, their moustache must be grown and groomed.
-
Moustaches must not meet sideburns, as this is considered a beard.
-
A handle bar moustache should not join the chin, as this is a goatee.
-
Mo bros must behave like gentlemen.

Penhaligon's Perfurmery, named by the Telegraph newspaper as one of London's top shops, is also getting involved in Movember for the second year running, by opening a pop-up moustache-trimming barbershop. They also generously agreed to donate 20% of sales of all male shaving products for Movember, from shops and online.
It was over one hundred and forty years ago since Penhaligon's opened their last barbershop on Jermyn Street in London, but act fast, because their pop-up barbershop will only be open for a month. Mo Bros can expect to receive a free trim from the flagship boutique store in London's Covent Garden.
