Movember is quite a unique charity event. Where others might encourage participants to run a marathon, bathe in a bath of baked beans or shave their head for sponsorship money, Movember demands a whole month of commitment. 'Mo bros' are encouraged to sport a moustache for the whole month to promote men's health issues and raise money for related charities.

Using people's faces as a platform seems to have worked well for Movember, and many companies have been quick to show their support with complimentary products and promotions. This hub details some of the different products and promotions currently going on.

Links of London - Cufflinks & Charm

Links of London have created a pair of cufflinks especially for the occasion. The limited edition sterling silver cufflinks come in the shape of a moustache, ideal for a proud participant in the event. They have also produced a moustache-shaped charm which can be worn on necklaces or bracelets.

Links of London offer a diverse mix of men and women’s jewellery in sterling silver and 18 carat gold. Founded in 1990 after a single order for a pair of fish-shaped cufflinks by a local restaurant owner, it soon gained notability thanks to Harvey Nichols ordering the whole collection. Today Links of London have shops in the UK, Hong Kong, USA and Canada.

G.B Kent – Moustache Comb

Kent Brushes have been manufacturers of brushes since the eighteenth century, and are credited as one of Britain’s oldest established companies. G.B Kent & Sons was founded in 1777, and was granted Royal Warrants during the reign of George III. Known for the quality of their products, they proudly still manufacture some of their brushes by hand.

This year Kent Brushes have revealed the official Movember moustache comb, to assist gentlemen in maintaining a smart and refined mo.

Penhaligon’s, named as one of London’s top shops by the Telegraph newspaper is also involved in the event, for the second year running. Not only have they developed their own Miraculous Moustache Wax, which is lightly scented with their Sartorial fragrance to help mo bros keep their taches under control, but they have also opened up their own pop-up moustache barber shop. It’s been over 140 years since the doors of Penhaligon’s first barbershop opened on Jermyn Street, and it’s set to re-open for a limited time only. Movember participants can book an appointment for a free mo trim at their flagship store in Covent Garden in London. Generously, they are donating 20% of all sales of male shaving products to the cause for the month, from shops and online.

It’s a Welsh Rarebit burger made from six-ounce beef patty, smoked cheddar, English mustard, stout and Worcestershire sauce, all for just £8.25. 50p from each sale will go to the Movember cause, and participants who raise over £25 will be treated to a free Gizz-Mo burger between November 7th and 20th.

Byron was involved in Movember in 2010, giving away nine thousand burgers to Movember fundraiser and serving up over five thousand Mighty Mo specials. They raised £23, 000 in total and hope to double that in 2011.
